Choreographer, performer, and researcher Rita Vilhena has developed an international career marked by experimentation, transformation, and participation through art. Her work has been presented in contexts such as Serralves – Museu como Performance, Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, Galeria ZDB/Negócio, Espaço Alkantara, Festival Temps d’Images, and A Gráfica – Centro de Criação Artística, among others, as well as in countries including the Netherlands, Austria, Macau, Hong Kong, Brazil, Thailand, and Egypt.
Winner of 1st Prize at the Solo Dance Contest of the Gdansk Dance Festival (Poland), she is the founder and artistic director of the Portuguese association Partícula Extravagante.
In this artistic performance workshop, open to the general public, participants will explore devices activated by body movement and image, aiming to experiment with forms of transmission and transformation of memory. Inspired by the creative process of the performance C-O-M, the workshop questions the possibility of embodying another’s experience, inviting the audience to engage in active participation.
More than spectators, participants become co-creators, reconstructing their own memories within the space. This is conceived as a ritual gesture that uses fiction as a tool to restore, reinvent, and reinscribe memory in the present.
