2. ConCorda

synopsis:
"ConCorda" is a multidisciplinary performance centered on the use of ropes, exploring their dramatic potential through movement and images that tell stories about human relationships. A dialog between us and without words. Rope that is a guiding thread. A lifeline. Rope in tension and distension. It ties and unties. It wraps, loosens or holds. Ties that are created in a game of checks and balances. An alternation between being suspended and almost falling. Balancing on a thread.

4. In Appearance Only

synopsis:
A short solo dance piece celebrating the joy of Dance!
Exploring themes of imitation, burlesquing, posturing and replication, the work draws inspiration from Gender Studies Scholar Judith Butler, and her argument, that Gender, as an objective natural thing, does not exist: "Gender reality is performative which means, quite simply, that it is real only to the extent that it is performed".
A stimulus for the movement vocabulary is derived from one ensemble dance work by Choreographer Henri Oguike, titled 'Little Red'. This piece in its final iteration was performed by 6 Female dancers, after the two Male roles were removed. In Appearance Only is an Ode to ‘Little Red’, driven by a curiosity to explore the impressions of a movement language which was never taught but learnt from having only watched a dance with great adoration.
