1. Body and Belonging

sinopsys:
“Body and Belonging” is a process-oriented research on the body, as a subject of identity and place of belonging; A meeting point where past present and future converge. Working with the concept of body mythology, the performer explores the complexity of identity through movement, voice, and gesture, representing our basic human desire to belong. Anouk’s current work was born out of an immersive study at Tamalpa Institute, mentoring with the dance pioneer Anna Halprin, and her daughter Daria Halprin in 2018. Next to her performance research, she is completing her advanced studies in somatic movement-based expressive arts therapy with Tamalpa this year. Anouk will continue to build on the solo next year, developing her embodied voice practice with
Rita Carolina Silva for a new dance solo creation, as an artist in residency at Companhia Olga
Roriz.

2. Meeting the Creature

sinopsys:
Three sculptures by Marjorie Slooff are the base of this performance. They were created after the artist observed a group of people dancing Contact Improvisation. They are inspiration and partners, frozen in their movements and yet alive. Jo Bruhn communicates with them, takes in their stillness, transforms it, continues it. Traveling through different stages he translates what he feels in this connection back into movement. This piece was created in summer 2023 for an exhibition in SerVivo, Palmela.

3. Onde morrem as Flores

sinopsys:
There is no earth. There is no grave. Nature, dear girl, abused by those who wanted to exploit it. My body is made of flowers, the girl’s body is made of seeds. Chrysanthemums are the flowers of the dead, but graves are little more than seed pots. I have a thousand fires inside me.
